There is something oh so special about capturing families with adult children. This is the time where they are starting their own chapters of their own families. I know, because I, myself am a mom of adult children. Life gets busy! Different homes. Different jobs. Sometimes even different states. So when you are all finally together for a moment in time, which may be rare – making time to do photos is so extra special!
This beautiful family of eight traveled from Washington State to Phoenix, Arizona for one of their daughter’s destination weddings. And while they were here, they carved out time with me for a sunset session at Papago Park. And I’m so thrilled they did.
Not only was this group full of joy, laughter, and love… but they also brought along their newest family member…the very first grandchild! You could feel how much love everyone had for that sweet little baby. She was completely adored, and honestly, stole the show more than once. (And I wasn’t mad about it.)
They coordinated their outfits perfectly. I absolutely LOVED the colors they chose. Earthy and neutral tones that blended beautifully with the rich desert landscape. It was such a perfect match for Papago Park’s iconic views… red rocks, sweeping desert trails, cactus, and towering palm trees everywhere you turn. It’s one of my go-to spots for visitors who want a true Arizona look without having to go too far from the city. And for families coming in from out of state, like this one, it always delivers something magical.
This session wasn’t just about getting everyone in one photo…though we definitely did that. It was about capturing this moment in their family’s story. The love between siblings, the pride on the first time grandparents’ faces, and the excitement of being together in a new place, celebrating such a huge milestone. Photos like this are part of the legacy that will be left behind years and years down the road.
