Let me tell you what inspired this session. Honestly…it wasn’t only about the family, but the space we were in.
Yes, the space. The natural lit studio space that I built. I’m sort of a little proud that I could even make it happen in less than a month.
This Phoenix family reached out to me wanting a session for their grandmother turning 90 years old. They wanted to give her something she had always dreamed of, and leave it to grandma to get everyone together.
The usual studio spaces I rent in Downtown Phoenix just weren’t going to work for this family. First, there were stairs…no way was a 90-year-old grandma climbing those. Second, most studios are pretty small, and with a group of 10, we needed room to breathe.
That’s when I decided to build some backdrops and a studio space to make it all happen… and more. You see, I didn’t just build it for my own sessions. I realized Phoenix needed a space like this. So, 726 Studios is now open for other Phoenix photographers and creatives to use. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep it going, but for now…it’s here.
The session itself? Absolutely amazing. From the kids eager to look into my camera, to the timeless portraits we captured, it reminded me of something important: we don’t live forever, and neither do our loved ones. But memories like these? They last. And this family…well, they understood that assignment. What a legacy this 90-year-old woman has built. Truly, a legacy.
