Firehouse Event Center - Peoria, AZ

Robert + Ashley

Photo of bride and groom in front of old historic Peoria, AZ firehouse.

Every wedding has its own special charm, and Ashley and Robert’s day was no exception. This was my second time capturing a wedding at the Firehouse Event Center in Peoria, AZ, and even though they opted for the minimal simplicity package, I knew the highlights from their day were worth sharing.

Every wedding has its own special charm, and Ashley and Robert’s day was no exception. This was my second time capturing a wedding at the Firehouse Event Center in Peoria, AZ, and even though they opted for the minimal simplicity package, I knew the highlights from their day were worth sharing.

The Firehouse Event Center is a historic gem, originally built in 1920 as Peoria’s first movie theater. After a fire in 1947, it was rebuilt and eventually became Fire Station #1 when Peoria was incorporated in 1954. It served the community until 2006 and is now nestled in the heart of Old Town’s Entertainment District. The venue may be small, but its rustic indoor space and unique charm make it a perfect backdrop for an intimate wedding.

Ashley and Robert, both dedicated members of the Banner Hospital team, met while working in the Cardiac Catheter Lab at Banner Thunderbird. Their journey from colleagues to best friends to life partners is a beautiful story. Ashley describes herself as shy until you get to know her, while Robert is the calming force in their relationship, bringing a sense of peace to her world.

Together, they share a love for hiking, especially to spots with water or waterfalls, and they cherish their monthly getaways to explore new places. Ashley, originally from Minnesota, moved to Arizona at the age of eight, while Robert, who grew up in Houston after spending his early years in Chicago, made Arizona his home in his 20s. Their first date was an unforgettable trip to California, dining at a beautiful restaurant right on the water—truly a perfect start to their love story.

Now, with six kids between them, they’ve created their own real-life Brady Bunch. Despite the demands of their jobs and busy schedules, they make time for each other and their blended family, building a life full of love and adventure.

Their wedding day at the Firehouse Event Center was a reflection of their journey together—simple, heartfelt, and full of love. I’m excited to share these highlights that capture the essence of their special day.
