Oh, you won’t believe the adventure we had with the Gillespie Dam Bridge for family photos! Buckle up for this one. So, we got a request from a family (not the one shown in these photos) for this location, and we were like, “Sure, why not?” Little did we know, it was a bit of a wild goose chase.
So my trusty sidekick and associate was sent on a mission to scout the area. But oh boy, she couldn’t even find the bridge! Thanks a lot, Apple Maps. We actually now use Google Maps from now on because of this incident. In the midst of me photographing a wedding at the same time, I had to play detective, stepping out to make calls and guide her to the right spot. Miraculously, with just 2 minutes to spare, she stumbled upon this hidden gem of a steel bridge.
Now, let me tell you, it was a challenge. Cars zooming by, not much room to maneuver…definitely not your run-of-the-mill photoshoot spot. But guess what? The pics turned out stunning! My second photographer worked her magic with two sessions, capturing the perfect light and those dreamy skies. And we know now what to expect and to prepare others that do want this gorgeous spot. I mean, it is a cool spot for sure! And now we know for next time where exactly to be and also telling our clients to trust Google more.
And speaking of dreams, we’ve been on quite a journey with the Guthrie family. Started with magical unicorn sessions with their girls, then the first family pic of the four of them. Now, we’ve got the whole crew, both sides of the family! I’m all about these moments, friends. Meeting your families and freezing these memories. It’s the good stuff!
