Justin and Jeff’s wedding day at the Redwall Lounge in Sedona, AZ was one of those days that remind me why I love photographing weddings. It was casual, full of personality, and the kind of celebration where I got to just roll with the moments. Those are my favorite…where the laughter is easy, the family connections are strong, and every little detail feels true to the couple.
The Redwall Lounge turned out to be the perfect brewery and venue for their gay wedding. Surrounded by friends and family, Justin and Jeff filled the space with love, artful details, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The food was a highlight too beautifully crafted dishes by Chef Nicholas Di Paolo of Sedona. This was my second time working with him, and it’s always a joy to photograph his gorgeous creations.
As an LGBTQ-friendly photographer, I can tell you there was no shortage of memorable moments. The ceremony itself was one of my favorites. The sun had been shining all day, but just before the vows, clouds rolled in. Right after Justin and Jeff said “I do,” the rain came. And as everyone says…it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day. But then the sky gave us something extra: a double rainbow. The symbolism of that moment wasn’t lost on anyone, and of course, I made sure to capture the newlyweds standing proudly beneath it.
Before the rain came down hard, we took a quick trip just six minutes away to Sugarloaf Trail in Sedona for some couple portraits. In only fifteen minutes, we created some of my favorite images from the day…romantic, artsy, and full of the energy that makes these two so unique.
When everyone had sat down for dinner, I did inform my couple with no pressure that the rain had subsided and there was a gorgeous sunset outside if they wanted to do a few more photos. They obliged happily and it was worth all the color and five minutes of sneaking away.
The rest of the night at Redwall Lounge was a relaxed celebration filled with laughter, music, and dancing. I especially loved that Justin and Jeff chose vendors I know and trust, like C West Entertainment. I’ve worked with their DJs many times, and it always makes the flow of the evening seamless.

From the meaningful ceremony to the rainbow-filled sky and the lively reception, Justin and Jeff’s wedding was everything it should be: full of love, art, and connection. Capturing it all was an honor.
