What a beautiful day in the Winter at the Salt River in Tonto National Forest, AZ. This location is always wonderful during golden hour and into sunset too. The cliffs with that sun going down always turn a little golden with the sun shining on them. The water was low that day, but it was just enough and shallow enough to also have the sunset reflect on the water at the end of our maternity portraits as well.
I truly enjoyed meeting Kennedy and Tim and I get to also be there for when their sweet little baby will arrive soon as well. I love getting to grow with families and they book me for the Belly + Baby sessions. During our time together, be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, especially at this stage of pregnancy. During our photoshoot, Kennedy did get dizzy quite a few times and we had to let her sit and rest. Her husband even ran back up to the car to get snacks at one point. It did worry me at one point, but once she got a snack in her, she continued to rock the show. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful evening and a more beautiful couple for these maternity photos.
The best time to photograph at this location is during the off season months of when the river will be used a lot and if we do photograph in the AZ summer, I only photograph at the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest on the weekdays especially, to avoid as many crowds as we can. This location isn’t requested enough from me though. It’s such a beauty! It truly showcases the gorgeous parts of Arizona.
