Some sessions stick with you, not just because of the photos but because of the story behind them. Michelle’s senior session in Downtown Phoenix was exactly that—a mix of unexpected challenges, perfect timing, and a dream come true.

Michelle is a homeschooled senior and a dedicated club soccer player. Her schedule is packed, balancing schoolwork and intense training, but when it came to her senior photos, she knew exactly what she wanted. She had always dreamed of a session that featured a car, and not just any car—a Porsche.

Originally, we scheduled her session with a beautiful location in mind, but there was one small problem: the Porsche wasn’t available that day. Michelle was still excited to move forward, but fate had other plans. On the way to our first session, she accidentally locked her keys—and all her outfits—inside her car. Naturally, she was stressed, but instead of letting it ruin the day, we made the best of it. We sat at a the Stemistry coffee shop in Heritage Square Park, talked, and got to know each other while waiting for the tow truck. In that moment, I saw so much of my own daughter in her, and by the end of our conversation, I knew her rescheduled session was going to be even better.

And it was.

By the time we set up our new shoot, something amazing happened—the Porsche was available! It was like everything had aligned just right. Seeing Michelle’s excitement as we incorporated the car into her senior photos in Downtown Phoenix was everything. She had dreamed of this moment, and watching it come to life was truly special.

We captured stunning shots of her with the car, but we also made sure to highlight the other important parts of who she is. Her love for soccer, her driven and busy lifestyle, and the confidence that shines through in every photo. More than just a senior session, this was a story of how sometimes things don’t go as planned—only to work out even better in the end.

Michelle’s session was proof that the best moments often come when we least expect them. And I’m so glad I got to be the one to capture them.
