The Lift - Dayton, OH

Zach + MacKenzie

Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing this amazing couple during their engagement session in the desert. To my delight, after capturing their love in the arid beauty, they invited me to Dayton, Ohio, to document the next chapter of their journey at The Lift. During the engagement shoot, their connection was so natural and effortless – it felt like I was simply third-wheeling on their adorable date. Their easygoing nature made my job a breeze, and I couldn’t wait to photograph their wedding.

The love story between Zach, an Air Force member at Luke Air Force Base, and MacKenzie, a nurse, is truly remarkable. Knowing each other for a decade, MacKenzie’s heart knew Zach was the one early on. Post-deployment, they became inseparable. Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, they share a love for cooking, hiking, and movies. Their first date, featuring “The Greatest Showman,” reflected Zach’s past as a theater enthusiast before his military days. It’s a beautiful tale unfolding, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!

Imagine this scene: as the night’s festivities wind down and the venue echoes with the whispers of departing guests, the newlyweds find themselves in a cozy loft within The Lift wedding venue. Seated on the floor, bathed in the soft glow of the remaining evening light, they share a moment so pure and intimate. Champagne glasses clink, and in that sacred space, they exchange private wedding vows – a culmination of love and commitment.

Can you feel the magic, friends? It’s this kind of moment that tugs at the heartstrings. And guess what? I was right there, capturing the essence of their private vows. They entrusted me with such a personal part of their journey, and the honor I felt was beyond words. It’s these instances that make being a photographer not just a profession but a privilege, a chance to freeze those cherished moments in time. How special is that?
