Oh, friends, when this couple reached out to me about photographing their elopement in Sedona, I was over the moon! Seriously, pinch me, because Sedona is an absolute dream for photographers.
I was thinking, “Okay, we’ll probably be surrounded by those iconic red rocks, right?” I mean, that’s what most folks come to Sedona for, those breathtaking views. But little did I know, this couple had a vision that included this stunning green spot with Oak Creek meandering through. It was like something out of a fairy tale!
Our adventure began at Red Rock State Park, and it was just awe-inspiring. The day ended at this enchanting green spot by the creek, where they had their ceremony surrounded by rocks. The whole scene was nothing short of magical, a perfect blend of the serene and the awe-inspiring.
What a love story! These two lovebirds, Madeline and Laura, originally hailing from Illinois and now making their home right here in Arizona, had their paths cross on Hinge just before the pandemic turned our world upside down.
They spent that summer chatting away, and by the time fall rolled around, their connection had blossomed into something truly special. Imagine this: as October painted the world with vibrant hues, they found themselves carving pumpkins and whipping up ratatouille together. That’s when they whispered those magical three words, “I love you.”
Fast forward, and it’s only fitting that they decided on an October elopement. They laced up their hiking boots and embarked on a journey down to the picturesque Oak Creek for their ceremony. And let me tell you, once we reached that spot, everything just fell into place like it was meant to be.
The intimacy in the air was palpable. I had to hold back my own tears as I watched them exchange vows by the water, married by their best friend, with me as a witness, signing that marriage license. It was an honor I won’t soon forget.
