Some senior sessions just come together so naturally, and Molly’s Senior Photos at Coon Bluff along the Salt River were exactly that. From the very beginning, everything felt easy and genuine, and I loved getting to spend that time with her as a senior at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert, Arizona.

Golden Desert Glow at the Salt River
We kicked things off in the most perfect golden light. If you’ve ever been to Coon Bluff, you know it has this unexpected mix of desert and softness. The tall, dried grass creates this glowing golden field look that almost feels like you’re nowhere near the desert at all.
It’s easy to see why Senior Photos at Coon Bluff can be so popular. The sun was hitting just right, wrapping everything in that warm Arizona glow. It gave Molly’s photos such a soft, dreamy feel and one of my favorite looks for senior sessions.
We wandered through the open field and then made our way toward the trees lining the river. That contrast with golden grass, deep greens, and soft light is exactly why I love shooting here. It gives so much variety without ever needing to leave one location.
A Playful Outfit Change + River Moments
After capturing those golden field moments, Molly changed outfits and we headed down to the water and this is where the session really came alive in a different way.
She kicked off her shoes, stepped into the river barefoot, and just had fun with it. Splashing the water, laughing, and not overthinking a single moment. Those are always the images that end up meaning the most and the ones that feel real.
There’s something about incorporating water into a senior session that adds movement and personality. It breaks away from the “posed” feeling and creates space for genuine moments like these and Molly totally embraced that.
Senior Photos That Feel Like You
What I loved most about Molly’s session was how her it felt. Nothing forced, nothing overly styled…just a beautiful mix of soft, glowy portraits and playful, carefree moments.
That’s always the goal for my senior sessions: creating images that not only look beautiful but actually feel like who you are in this season of life.
