Tempe Town Lake Senior Photos

Jaydin

When I found out Jaydin wanted her senior portraits taken at Tempe Town Lake, with the pedestrian bridge, my heart honestly smiled. A few years back, Memories by Candace photographed her older brother in this very same spot under the soft glow of sunset, with the iconic Tempe Town bridge in the background. There’s something special about returning to the same place with a different story to tell. It felt full circle.

Jaydin is a homeschool senior living out in Apache Junction, and right away I could tell she had such a calm, thoughtful presence. She mentioned she’s usually the one behind the camera. Turns out, she has a passion for landscape photography (which made me light up a bit inside). It’s always fun connecting with another creative.

We started her session with someone very important—her pup! I love when seniors bring their pets because it’s such a fun way to remember this season of life. Her dog was such a trooper and looked adorable in those early golden hour photos. After some cap and gown shots, we moved into what might’ve been my favorite part of the session…

Jaydin brought the most stunning red form fitting formal gown to wear. I mean…yes, please! It was so elegant, and paired with that dreamy sunset over the bridge, it made for pure magic. And then…serendipity happened!

In one of the images of her in the formal gown, a plane flew right across the sky above the bridge. It gave me goosebumps because we had the exact same moment happen during her brother’s senior session years ago. Same place. On the Tempe Town bridge. Plane flying through. I didn’t Photoshop that in. It’s real! The planes are always flying in and out of the nearby airport, but still… what are the odds? It felt like a little wink from the universe.

Jaydin may be used to holding the camera more than posing for it, but let me tell you…she rocked her session. From sweet, candid moments with her dog, to fierce golden hour looks in cap and gown, and then the elegant, grown-up version of herself in that stunning dress… she gave me everything I needed and more.
