In 2024, it seems like the senior class is opting for a change from the desert aesthetic, and I couldn’t be happier about it! My questionnaires this year have been echoing this sentiment, with many clients expressing a desire to steer clear of the typical desert backdrop. Enter Jordyn, who chose the small charming town of the Verrado neighborhood in Buckeye, AZ for her senior photos. Let me set the scene for you: while this isn’t Jordyn’s first time in front of our lens at Memories by Candace, her previous session was with her family. This time, it was all about her.
Jordyn may have been a bit reserved during the shoot, but I believe we managed to put her at ease. According to her mom, she’s generally shy, except when she’s at home. That reminds me of my own youngest daughter growing up. Despite her quiet demeanor, Jordyn shared some fascinating tidbits about herself. She’s passionate about her job as a host at Texas Roadhouse in Surprise, AZ. Come fall, she’ll be heading off to the University of Michigan, where she plans to pursue a degree in education. Her dream? Teaching upper levels, with a focus on history—a subject she truly loves. Having family in Michigan will surely make the transition easier for her.
Jordyn’s taste in music is as diverse as her interests, ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Taylor Swift. It’s clear she enjoys a wide variety of genres. Plus, she’s no stranger to online schooling, which affords her some extra flexibility—a perk she undoubtedly appreciates.
All in all, despite being on the quieter side, Jordyn revealed quite a bit about herself during our time together in the small downtown areas of Verrado in Buckeye, AZ. It just goes to show that there’s often more beneath the surface than meets the eye.
