Phoenix Senior Photographer

Hey seniors – I want to know you!  As a Phoenix senior photographer, specializing in modern high school portraits in the Phoenix, Arizona area my goal is to capture who you are right now…not some version that feels staged or stiff. Whether we are capturing desert golden hour portraits, urban downtown Phoenix vibes, or scenic Arizona locations, your session will feel completely you.

What lights you up? What keeps you up at night? Your go-to-ice cream flavor? Your big post-graduation dreams? All of it truly does matter in your senior pictures.

Here’s the deal. Everyone starts out saying, “I’m so awkward in front of the camera.” But here’s my secret: you won’t be for long. I’ll guide you through every pose, show you exactly what to do, and probably demonstrate myself (because I’m not afraid to get weird for the shot.)

I’ll fix your hair, remind you to ditch the hair tie on your wrist, and cheer you on the whole time. You’ll forget the camera’s even there…it’ll just feel like we’re hanging out, laughing, and vibing to good music.

You don’t need to “know what to do.” You just need to show up as you! I’ll handle the rest.

So...you ready to do this thing or what?

Client Testimonial

“The hardest part? Choosing our favorites.”

Our experience with Candace was nothing short of outstanding. She has a gift for capturing magic and putting people at ease in front of the camera; but there’s so much more. She radiates kindness and warmth and has so much passion for her craft that even goes beyond her talent. Communication was great from the start. My daughter (who was very nervous) had an amazing time at the session (Candace provided her favorite music and a private changing area). The photos were positively stunning and the most difficult part of the whole process was choosing our favorites. I strongly recommend Candace for any photography needs and we will 100% be returning for my son’s senior pictures in two years and any other family needs in the future!

WHY THESE SENIOR PHOTOS MATTER SO MUCH

Senior photos are more than just portraits. They mark the end of a chapter and the exciting beginning of a new one. For your teen, this is celebrating of all they have achieved. All those late nights up studying, working hard, and accomplishing one of their biggest milestones up to this point in their life. But it’s also a chance to capture who they are right now, before they step into the next phase of their life.

For parents, senior photos are also a bittersweet reminder that this chapter is coming to a close. I know for my own parents, the last photo they have of just me on the wall is my senior picture. After that, the next photos we had taken were on my wedding day. Think about that…this is the end of a journey for you as parents as well. It’s a moment to celebrate all the years of growth, love, and memories, before your child steps out into the world on their own.

These photos are a way to look back on who they are at this moment right now, before they change again, before they leave home, before they start their next chapter. These are photos that you will look back on and remember how they were in this moment: full of hope and excitement at what’s yet to come. It’s not just a milestone for your senior grad. It’s a milestone for you as a parent too.

And beyond marking this milestone, for seniors these sessions are also confidence boosters. In the span of an hour or two, your teen gets to see themselves in a new light…trying new poses, expressing their personality, and stepping fully into who they are right now. It’s amazing how this little time in front of the camera can help them carry themselves with pride and self-assurance long after the session ends.

Frequently Asked Questions for Your High School Senior Photos

When should I book my senior photos in Phoenix or Arizona?

Senior sessions can be scheduled year-round, but timing matters depending on your location and school deadlines. Many schools have early fall deadlines, so booking early ensures your session fits their requirements. The season you choose also affects your background. For example, while February in Phoenix has beautiful weather, some seniors want green landscapes or Sedona scenery. August is perfect for wildflowers and lush northern Arizona locations, while Sedona may still have snow in February. Getting on my calendar early ensures that I’ll help you plan the timing and location so your senior portraits look amazing, no matter the season.

How many outfits should I bring for my Phoenix senior session?

It depends on the session you choose! For Essential Short Sessions, we focus on a single outfit, but we can easily include your cap and gown for graduation portraits. For Spotlight Sessions, I recommend at least one outfit change to give your photos variety. And for the Senior VIP Tour, plan for 3–4 outfits to capture multiple looks, styles, and vibes. I also provide a helpful outfit guide to give ideas and inspiration, but the final picks are all yours. Your session should feel like you!

Where are the best locations for senior photos in Phoenix and Arizona?

The best location is the one that fits you...your personality, style, and what makes your senior photos truly yours. Some seniors love iconic Phoenix spots like Papago Park or Downtown for an urban, edgy vibe. Others want lush, scenic Arizona backgrounds, like Sedona or the northern mountains in summer. I’ve even photographed high school athletes on their own school fields or students at their favorite hangout spots. We’ll talk about your vision...whether it’s moody, adventurous, playful, or totally unique and pick locations that make your session feel like you.

What can I expect during my Phoenix senior portrait session?

Your session is all about capturing who you are in a fun, relaxed way. Sometimes we’ll pull out music to help you feel comfortable, sometimes we’ll just chat about your favorite things. The goal is really to get to know each other so you can be yourself in front of the camera. I might ask you to do a little movement that feels a bit silly at first and yes, I’ll be showing you too, looking just as goofy! But those moments create natural, genuine expressions that show your personality. There’s a lot of laughter, energy, and authentic moments, whether we’re shooting in downtown Phoenix, the desert, or other scenic Arizona locations. By the end, you’ll forget the camera is even there, and your photos will feel completely you.
